Hello, and welcome to my first book review! Reading has always been a favorite hobby of mine, and I am so excited to begin this new section of Cute Teachings.

My first book that I will be reviewing is The Boston Girl, by Anita Diamant. Let me begin by saying that this is the first book that I have read by Anita Diamant. I was walking home from work one night, and decided to go into Barnes & Noble. I am so happy that I did so, because that was the night that I stumbled upon this amazing book!

One thing that I love about this book is where it is based in...Boston! It is always fun to read books that are placed in your home city. I absolutely love Boston, and living in the city! The Boston Girl is based in the North End; and even though I live in the South End, I love the North End!

This book begins in 1915, and it is so interesting to read about how my home city was, so many years ago. Back then, women did not have as many rights as they did now. It is amazing to read how life was back then, with the difference that we experience now. Frankly, it is quiet refreshing. The main character, Addie Baum, not only faces struggles due to social stereo types, but also experiences high expectations from her family. I will never forget when her parents told her that she could already read and write...why go to high school? What?! Insane!

I feel in love with Addie, and wanted to follow along with her character story line from the beginning! I would recommend this book to any woman. This book is refreshing and a breath of fresh air. Any woman will learn a great lesson by reading this book; and will reflect on their own life, and what they want to accomplish in life.
